I visited with the Toy Design class at Parsons School of Design this week to talk about my company Scary Stories and the Naughty Naughty Pets. I showed them some of our licensed products, a few of the Cartoons and then we did a sewing project~! Here are some of the toys in progress..many thanks to Caty for inviting me back...

Hi everyone...well, I just got back from Toronto where I attended the Gemini Awards..unfortunately we didn't win.. but it really was a thrill to be nominated.!! ..and it was a great evening...

NHK gets Naughty Naughty

Japan's national pubcaster NHK has snapped up shorts series Naughty Naughty Pets from Toronto, Canada's Decode Entertainment for its Saturday morning block. In addition, Decode has sold the 26 x three-minute 2-D animated comedy about the shenanigans of misbehaving pets to Mexico's Canal Once.

The prodco is working on developing a long-form treatment for the series that currently airs on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the US and the CBC in Canada, which should also expand its merchandising reach. So far, licensing agency The Sharpe Co. has brokered licensing deals in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and the UK, and has recently added Wish (apparel), Fiesta (plush) and American Greetings (stationery) to Naughty's list of US licensees.

Naughty Naughty Pets Nominated on The Gemini Awards

Naughty Naughty Pets has been nominated
for two awards in the 22nd Gemini Awards:

• Best Animated Program or Series
• Best Original Music Score for an Animated Program or Series

The awards are given on October 16th, 2007!

AGES 6 AND UNDER NAUGHTY NAUGHTY PETSThis is a wickedly funny cartoon, one you don't mind watching with the kids. It's based on the weird little pets first sewn by Wendy Ann Gardner, then spun off into books and now these animated shorts. Pet sitter and singer Windy Woo tries to keep the animals (who have kept their colourful, toy-like image) and their odd habits under control. It's tough, but she spins their bad behaviour into funny little ditties in each show.
